While it is possible to restore your game on a different OS, please be aware you will lose any Diamonds on the new OS. If you ever return to the original OS all your Diamonds will still be there. They just cannot be carried to the new OS.
For example: If you installed the game on an Android device and would like to transfer the account to an iOS device, this is possible but all Diamonds will stay on the Android version of the account.
